PNP: No discrimination vs Muslims in anti-crime ops amid Sabah row

The Philippine National Police on Saturday reassured Muslim communities it will not discriminate against them in its ongoing anti-crime operations, amid the conflict in Sabah between followers of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III and Malaysian security forces.
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said there is no reason to target Muslims or Muslim communities in their operations against crime, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported.
He said the PNP is conducting "regular" anti-crime campaigns but there is no discrimination in its efforts to thwart criminality.
On the other hand, he assured Muslim groups the PNP will respect their sentiments and peaceful actions on the issue.
Cerbo also said they continue to monitor developments in Sabah.
Earlier, police tightened security at the house of the Sultan Kiram in Taguig City, amid reports of some people acting suspiciously in the area.
The conflict between Kiram's followers and Malaysian forces has continued since a deadly gunfight on March 1.
Malaysian forces continue to hunt down Kiram's followers after rejecting the sultan's offer of a unilateral ceasefire.
Some 200 Kiram followers, headed by the Sulu Sultan's brother, landed in Sabah early in February to assert their claim to the land in North Borneo. — LBG, GMA News

Admin : Cadangan agar Kerajaan Filipina menahan 'Sultan Sulu Jamalul Kiram lll terlebih dahulu, kemudian diminta Sultan Sulu tersebut merayu supaya anak buahnya menyerahkan diri dan serta merta letak senjata dengan tanpa syarat (Unilateral) . Maka barulah boleh diadakan rundingan diantara kedua belah negara Malaysia dan Filipina di bawah semangat ASEAN kerana kedua dua negara tidak mempunyai perjanjian Ekstradisi di dalam menghadapi penjenayah yang melibatkan soal hal ehwal antarabangsa.
Bagi admin hasrat Sultan Kiram ingin mendapatkan semula kenangan bersama Sabah telah ditelan zamah dan dimamah sejarah. Perjuangan mereka adalah sia sia dan membuang masa dan tenaga sahaja. Segalanya telah termaktub sejak 1878 bahawa Sabah adalah untuk Sabah dan pada tahun 1963 pula orang orang Sabah telah membuat Referandum di bawah Suruhanjaya Cobbold bahawa sabah adalah merdeka bersama Persekutuan Malaysia. TITIK !!!
